As a migrant, the absence of fixed roots has shaped my sense of belonging. That’s why most of my images are captured in the in-between spaces of my travels. I create them as a way of understanding the world and, in doing so, understanding myself. They don’t seek to document reality, but rather to explore the tension between what we see and what we interpret. The subject doesn’t change, but how we perceive it does; and by detaching it from its context - like a migrant -, new interpretations emerge.

I view photography as the act of listening with my eyes, being still and capturing the breath that exists between the lens and the subject. I also rely on color as its own language. I believe it shapes emotion, turning the ordinary into something significant. Through using it to the fullest, and looking for perspective-shifting composition, I communicate with the viewer and encourage flexibility of thought.
